Mini-Computer Makers - Build Your Own Processor

Join Adventure From Code to Chip

Turn curiosity into real power. Students design and build their very own RISC-V computer processor from the ground up, in a program powered by Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR). They program it on a real FPGA board, with no prior experience required. It's a hands-on chance to bring an idea to life. All students in grades 6-12 are invited to join the adventure.

Registrations Closed

Qualified Participants take home a Made-in-India FPGA board at the end of the program.

Why join?

Decode how computers work, create a processor like a brain built from LEGO blocks, and light it up on an FPGA board that belongs to the participant.

Turn circuits into code, code into hardware, and hardware into a live demo on FPGA..

How it works

  • Live online classes: twice a week, 90 minutes each
  • Browser-based labs — no heavy installs
  • Qualified Students get their own FPGA board delivered, with full ownership after the program.
  • TA help desk & office hours every week
  • Certificate upon completion
Quick explainer • RISC-V in 4 steps
  1. Put 2 in register A
  2. Put 3 in register B
  3. ALU adds A + B → C
  4. Show result (LEDs/UART) → 5

Those steps are made of instructions. The set of instructions your chip understands is called an ISA. In this course, that ISA is RISC-V.

Ready to build your own mini-computer?

Two live sessions a week · 6 weeks · Your own FPGA board included

FAQ

Is this too hard for me?

No. We start from zero. If you know basic math and a little programming, you're set.

Do I need to install complex tools?

No. Labs run in your browser. We ship the FPGA board and guide you through flashing it.

What do I get at the end?

A certificate, your own FPGA board, and a working mini-computer you designed.

How are classes scheduled?

Two 90-minute live sessions per week over six weeks, plus TA office hours.

Content inspired by VSD's high-school FPGA program. Logistics: online cohort, twice-weekly live sessions, FPGA board included; system requirements and structure per official proposal.
